Product
A pharmacy counter that knows the medicine.
Pharmasys is a pharmacy ERP, point of sale and regulatory shield for Bangladeshi retail and hospital pharmacies, with 25,929 medicines, generic alternatives, DGDA registration numbers and real packshots. It is usable from the first day with nothing but a stock count.
The problem
The counter knows more than the software does.
In a Bangladeshi pharmacy a prescription often arrives without a brand. The counter has to find the same generic, check the strength, explain the price difference, and still keep the stock figure honest when a strip is broken into tablets.
Most systems record the sale and leave the rest to memory: which company makes it, whether the registration is valid, how many pieces are actually left in the box.
Capability
What it does.
Six parts of the product that do the daily work; everything else supports them.
Counter and billing
Sales by pack, strip or piece, with the fraction arithmetic kept exact instead of rounded away.
Stock down to the piece
Boxes, strips and loose tablets tracked as one quantity, with expiry and low-stock alerts.
Generic and alternative finder
Search by brand or molecule, and see the same generic from other manufacturers with the price difference.
Regulatory checks
DGDA registration numbers and factory licence validity shown at the point of sale, not in a file.
Packshot confirmation
The real package image, so the right brand and strength leave the shelf.
Prescription sentinel
Antibiotic and controlled-drug warnings, with a record of what was dispensed and to whom.
Engineering
How it is built.
Three decisions that shape the product, and the stack that carries them.
Start with what you have
There is no catalogue-entry marathon. Record the stock you can see, and the catalogue fills in around it as you sell.
The database is the product
25,929 medicines, 7,529 registration numbers and 334 factory licences maintained as data, not as a lookup someone updates by hand.
Runs on a modest computer
A light front end and a local SQLite store, with media served from a CDN rather than the counter.
Stack
Packshots are cleaned, re-indexed and served from the edge. The counter downloads only the images it needs, and keeps working when the network does not.
